Artist's Description
I stopped near Cherry Valley to capture the scenic upstate New York landscape that brings so much food to my table. This may be another canvas with a thousand faces...like the Southwest RR Trestle. Probably I should simply start a series....
About Betty Pieper
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. Thank you, Jim. I will be painting various versions of this scene for years....I have rarely spent an hour outdoors "looking" that impressed me as much. By the way I am finishing a huge canvas now and will finally need to order some more of those great liquid acrylics you told me about years ago.

Thank you, Betty for the kind words. A ladder... :) why not.Yes, I also think it is good that UPSTATE FARMLAND is out of your home, currently hanging at a college so you need to wait however and maybe during this time you will decide not to repaint it, just to paint a brand new work instead. Good luck what ever you are gonna do!
Betty Pieper replied:
Yes. Thanks. Good advice to wait...This is the same college that at first banned my Innocents and received unwelcome publicity so the don't want anything unusual again!

Roland, Thanks! When I looked at your Sarangi Landscape I decided that this one of mine needs to be more expressive...more freely painted....but it is now hanging at a nearby college so I better WAIT to repaint, right. LOL My husband has always said that I'd bring a ladder in to a gallery someday with my paints and brushes. I love your work...Keep going and you may one day be famous.
