Artist's Description
I wanted something to lighten and brighten a hallway in our summer cabin.

About Betty Pieper
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. Gorgeous work Betty, The yellow/blue combination works a treat. Bet this looks amazing in your summer cabin hallway. Would make your holidays just that little more special with every visit.
Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you, Ryan. What a gracious comment. I brought it home last fall having spent only 4 nights there all summer and less so far this one. I'm painting my studio space shades of red and green so I'm not sure how this will "work" but I'll try it. It makes a great piece to cover supplies and remind me of bright days.

Love this wonderful painting!
Betty Pieper replied:
Many thanks. I went to your site and was awed by the photo of the lake, piers, and fog...Anyone who loves water probably loves boats and sails, right?
Kris Napier

Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you, Kris. It was fun to paint.

Thanks. I appreciate all the feedback on my recent work!

What a nice compliment! It is my only unstretched canvas. I sometimes staple canvas to a board and gesso it and then I can take it with me, not necessarily for plein aire but just to be able to paint.

I love the colors and subject matter here. I am picturing this in any room where you would just want to chill out and relax
