Thanks, Lenore. I think I'll have to take it outdoors for natural light at some point to get a photograph that does it justice. It was nice painting on the lovely linen and painting large which I like. However, it's heavy.

Artist's Description

The inspiration for this painting began while visiting a scenic vista when nearing Flagstaff, AZ from Oak Creek Canyon. A well traveled man saw it in an exhibit and said it reminded him of a place in Italy. To me the rock structures created the effect of a massive cathedral while the trees formed a design as beautiful as any stained glass windows I have ever seen. The work is on heavy linen canvas with custom redwood stretchers. It is heavy.

Betty Pieper

Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. In San Bernardino she lived in a trailer park and later in a rural farmhouse without running water, then in an historic mansion with an Indian cellar.
