Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. In San Bernardino she lived in a trailer park and later in a rural farmhouse without running water, then in an historic mansion with an Indian cellar. Thank you so much for the specific insight. I could not be happier than to marry the simple with the intricate. Since I posted this I have 'repainted' just a little...I have a bad habit of often having 3-5 paintings UNDER the one I finally decide on instead of buying and stretching more canvas! The newer version is still on my huge easel and will not be much changed...a little more of the lighter green in the tall trees. I note poetic in your business title..I had originally painted these words on the canvas: The same waters that beget islands of diversity also beget shining seas of unity. My poem and my HOPE for today.
