Title
Wintergreen Falls as a Memorial
Artist
Betty Pieper
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
Canajoharie's Wintergreen Falls is at once a natural wonder and joy but also
a potential death maker. I've chosen to interpret the dual nature and history of the falls by painting a monument to the people who sought thrills and found
death instead. And to remember their families and pay tribute to the rescue squads.

Beautifully done! Love your technique and the mood it creates. Captivating! v/f
Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you, Dawn. Perhaps only an expressionistic work can hope to convey natural beauty and the monumental impact this falls has had on human life. I hope it suggests the duality....

Very nice. You can almost feel how cold that water is.
Betty Pieper replied:
Thanks. I never had the nerve to jump from the rocks but cold was the least of my concern!
