Artist's Description
This is a BIG painting. Many years ago I did a piece...quite abstract...titled "Grandpa's Potting Bench". My mother who mostly liked 'pretty and realistic pictures' favored it with a place over her sofa until her death. Later someone wanted to buy it and I declined. Now I decided to do a fresh update!
About Betty Pieper
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. In San Bernardino she lived in a trailer park and later in a rural farmhouse without running water, then in an historic mansion with an Indian cellar. Thank you. I appreciate your work in sponsoring such a big and eclectic group for FAA. Without e robotic help! It is amazing how those search engines visit so frequently. But I've had a few sales - even miraculously of originals - so I'm thankful for the robots!

Ps..no robot here!! just us chickens!

What a great large still life you created, Betty! Love the color movement, so beautiful and well expressed your title! Enjoy the plants as well:-)! Thank you so much for you nice feedback on my photography "Peruvian Door Decor 12", I do appreciate it!!!
Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you. Nice to have human feedback. Yesterday I had over 60 "visits" and I think they were Google search engines from Japan to London...computers not people?

Yes I have earned the nickname Lily Lady from a little boy who lost his mom several years ago--he refused to use my name for a couple of years but really came out in the garden and with the flowers. We now have over 2000 varieties but I promise you I have NO artistic talent---NO musical talent nada....I photograph my flowers and have to live with that!
Betty Pieper replied:
Get an FAA account and post the great photos you take online! (Maybe a project for the short DE winter!)
Heather Hotaling
Love it!!!! If it is outside it will grow.....inside not so much so!
Betty Pieper replied:
Take up painting. I can have almost as much fun covered in paint as you can in dirt. Then you can grow flowers on canvas indoors. Maybe not by the hundreds (thousands?) you have outdoors though.

Beautiful still life, Betty! Love the colorful and creative composition, well done!!!
Betty Pieper replied:
Love your new identity icon. I thought of you today when painting with my left hand for awhile...My right arm is fit to fall off from applying gesso to large canvas supports all week! I'm pleased you like the potting stand.
Julie Hemmings
Love it. Very wild!
Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you, Julie.
Sandy McIntire
I like it!
Betty Pieper replied:
Thanks, Sandy. I do too and it serves as a screen to hide the edges of paintings in a rack and brightens the whole studio. Good to hear from you!
