The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This is a strong design of a mother and child, deliberately
vague but evoking nursing and nurture and the integral
relationships of mother and child. This has been exhibited in
Perrela Gallery at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
I like the human value as well as the structure.
About Betty Pieper
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. In San Bernardino she lived in a trailer park and later in a rural farmhouse without running water, then in an historic mansion with an Indian cellar. Thank you, Len. I recently visited your masterful works and marvel at how consistently you produce exciting work. Today I even "took to the field" for a time...Overall though I love these wild blends of color and abstraction and I'm trying to find a way to do that in landscapes.
