Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. Love your take on the western 'stand off', Ryan! I did a LOT of drawing as a youngster but have shied away as an adult thinking, "Drawing is drawing, painting is painting', but in this one...for a friend who owns a gallery where I exhibit (Katbird Shoppe)...I decided to combine the two. Love the simplicity of this work with the contrast of light to dark tones. Almost has a western stand off look to the scene 'the quick draw', matched also by the colours. Can visualise this work is a contemporary fine art collection. Well done Betty! F/L

This is such a sweet ink. I posted for friends to see and it got lots of positive feedback, as I expected.
Betty Pieper replied:
Oh, thank you for doing that! I don't do social media so I especially appreciate when people do this. Good to hear that people like it. I was thinking of making cards saying "Here's Looking At You".

What remarkably generous comments, Joyce. Most times I think life passes me by and I feel out of touch so it's easy to be modest! On this work...it just came so easily right after I first talked to Kathy and realized what she is doing for SAS and art in Schenectady. No way I could match her classy logo but I hoped she would enjoy this original. The bird was quick and easy from years of watching our cocky crows.
