I felt the strong draw of the wonderful European breakfasts we enjoyed throughout Germany. Better than the finest picnic and most fancy meals. It comes in a simple gold frame.
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Lovely painting !
Betty Pieper replied:
Thanks. I like this a lot as well. Reminds me of European breakfasts but also my Grandmother's fruit dish which she gave me long ago.

Thank you so much. One of the best blessings of paintings is to evoke memories or put something forward to ponder as well as to enjoy aesthetically! To me a composite of forests in Germany and the Adirondacks, my grandmother's green and gold fruit bowl and that wonderful strawberry milch just flowed heart to head to hand.

I love this one. It reminds me of Lake George, NY when Great Escape was Storytown. I think of the Bavarian area in the park when I see this and it transports me back in time to a warm sunny day with a breeze under the pines.

Thank you. I value your opinion. Ruth Daly, curator and associate director of Opalka Galleries (part of Sage Colleges in Albany, NY) chose to include this in a regional show at ARKELL. She has recently curated some very sleek sculptural exhibits in Opalka's classy spaces. Both your comment and her selection makes me hope this is less "busy" and more contemporary than I feared!
