Title
Reluctant Flower Girl
Artist
Betty Pieper
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
This came forth from a real life situation - based on a photo by my talented sister, Grace Rishell. Our tiny grand niece took one look at the long aisle and large church at Union College in Schenectady and chose the comfort of Mommy's arms to approach the altar! Witty neice, Heather, introduced herself to the receiving line as "The World's Oldest Flower Girl".

Thank you, Jason. I never pretend to be a portrait artist...only an expressionist....but I think I caught the child's expression here. She was far too young and small to face a cavernous university chapel and a LONG aisle alone!

Thank you, Heather, for the comment - and for choosing a wall color to complement the work.

One of my personal favorites as I have it hanging in my living room with the picture I believe inspired it... yes, never a bridesmaid but the oldest flower girl in the history of weddings! Fun and the colors in this painting inspired the wall color I chose also!
