Home to the Softer Side of City metal print by Betty Pieper. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. In my mind I call this 'Coming Home to Brooklyn' but it is a juxtaposition of many images adrift in my mind: a vision from smaller bridges in the Bronx or Manhattan and a nebulous composite of what could be any city...a variety of tall buildings in the distance against a sunset.
About Betty Pieper
Betty Pieper received her first set of oils at the age of ten and has been painting ever since. Her work has been selected by prominent jurors for prestigious regional and national exhibitions and is owned by people throughout the country. Before the age of five, Betty had lived on Dean Street in Brooklyn, on Forsythe Street in Manhattan, on an estate in Westchester county, and with her grandparents in rural New York. She watched her father build their house nearby only to sell it and announce a move to California. In San Bernardino she lived in a trailer park and later in a rural farmhouse without running water, then in an historic mansion with an Indian cellar. In my mind I call this Coming Home to Brooklyn but it sure isn't the famous Brooklyn Bridge....and in fact comes out of my head from Willis Street or a series of small bridges in the Bronx or even Manhattan when on the way. So a 'mind' work. I definitely want to do something similar on a big canvas. It's interesting that you chose this one!
