Title
Old Western Gateway Bridge Schenectady to Scotia
Artist
Betty Pieper
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Stretched Linen
Description
The Western Gateway Bridge out of Schenectady was truly a major gate way to the west through the 1800s. It borders the old section known as the Stockade where indeed George Washington slept, George Westinghouse grew up, and near by Edison began the forerunner of General Electric. The city was once known as the city that "lights and hauls the world" because of its history with electricity and locomotives. Painted on linen canvas.
