Cat Friends Watching the World Go By
Artist
Betty Pieper
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Paper
Description
This watercolor paper started out to be an experimental piece and morphed into two cat friends looking out the window. Not everyone will like the unique colors and approach but that is what creating is all about...something different emerging.

Thank you, Sergey! And that is one beautiful cat that you use for your signature image. Some people think all 'beautiful' cats are female but I have learned better and hated to hear my beautiful males called "she" all the time. So He or She is alert, healthy and CURIOUS in the image!

Thank you, Carole. I was organizing unsold small works the other day and marveled at this one. I could never recreate it...just unique. I'm so pleased you liked it enough for a home page feature!

Georgeta....Thank you for the feature in Self Taught Group. Anyone who looks at the technique up close will see that experimenting in pushing and pulling paint as well as innovating on the ordinary in our lives is probably the essence of learning for oneself by doing...thus, self taught. A pleasure that you chose this one!

Thank you, Madalena, for featuring this work in the Women Painters group! Among good company....just like the cat friends here.

Thanks! I got the idea from a photo of two of our daughters cat...one who struggled with a fatal virus recently despite vaccines and incredibly good care. I wondered if cat lovers would take offense at the experimental techniques and unusual colors. It's meant as a tribute to cats who can be best friends to each other as well as to people.

What a surprise and pleasure....I wondered if anyone would really like it as an art work! Thanks so much.

Rate this one highly Betty, beautiful work! has a visual sense of cats merging with mountains. I'm going to name it 'The paw apostles' :) F/L

Sweet kitties.
Betty Pieper replied:
Thank you, Julie. You can appreciate the cuddled cats without liking the pink. I'm curious to get feedback....and as you know...I can always paint over...and over...and over.
